The Ten of Pentacles: A Legacy of Home

A-Tu’s “Black Gold Rice” quickly became famous throughout the region. Its delicious taste and unique nutritional value amazed everyone.

People came to A-Tu’s land in a steady stream, wanting to buy seeds and learn his cultivation techniques.

A-Tu did not sell the seeds at a high price, nor did he keep the techniques a secret. He remembered that cold winter day when the old carpenter had handed him that sweet potato.

He teamed up with the old carpenter and Xiao-Ye, turning his land into an open community farm. They freely taught the "Black Gold Rice" cultivation methods and the principles of sustainable eco-friendly farming to anyone who was willing to learn.

Gradually, barren lands were transformed into golden-black rice paddies. The entire valley flourished and became prosperous because of this one small seed. A-Tu's small wooden hut was expanded into a sturdy, welcoming homestead, becoming the center of the entire community. The old carpenter’s children, Xiao-Ye’s students, and more young people who had heard of their work came to learn, live, and settle there.

At the end of the story, a now white-haired A-Tu sat beside the original "Black Gold Rice" plant. It had grown into a plant as tall as a small tree, becoming the totem of the land. He was surrounded by his family, friends, and a group of bright-eyed children listening to him tell stories of the past.

The lingering sunset painted the entire homestead in a warm, golden hue. In the distance, there were endless rice paddies and rising smoke from cooking fires. A child carefully placed a ripe "Black Gold Rice" seed into A-Tu's wrinkled palm.

A-Tu looked at the seed and smiled.

It was so much like the one he had found on this barren land decades ago.

One Pentacle had become ten Pentacles.

The abundance of one person had become the legacy of a family, a community, and even an era.

What he had built was no longer just his personal wealth but a solid, true "home" that could shelter future generations and coexist in harmony with the world.

This was the end of the Pentacles' journey.

And the most beautiful and eternal movement of the Earth's song.
